Installation: Tiled Roof on St Philips Road

At RG Leverett Ltd, we’re experts in all kinds of roofing systems. So when the owners of one Norwich property wanted the timbers and felt in their pitched roof repaired, they knew we were the best for the job. Take a look at what we did on their site.

We carefully removed the existing roof slates and pantiles and set them to one side. Tiles have a long life, so most of them will be reused. Once the innards of the roof was exposed, the next job was to remove and dispose of the existing felt membranes and battens.

Safety First. We always comply fully with current working-at-height regulations, and have a number of health and safety accreditations to certify this. For this job, proper regulations meant full scaffolding at the front and rear of the property. As members of CompetentRoofer, we are also able to self-certify that our work complies with current Building Regulations. The customer received a Building Regulations Certificate of Compliance. 

We installed brand new TLX Gold insulation and breather membrane that will improve the thermal performance of the roof by up to 86%. This will enable our clients to turn down their thermostat and reduce their heating bills. You can see the new graded timber tile battens that we nailed into place with galvanised fixings.

To finish off the job, we refitted the existing slates to the front roof and pantiles to the rear roof. Any that were damaged, we replaced with good quality matching reclaimed slates and tiles. We carried out the necessary lead work and cement work, and also installed a high performance Topseal GRP fibreglass roofing system to the dormer flat roof at the property, which comes with a 25 year Topseal guarantee. All of the work has a 20 year insurance backed guarantee and a 25 year company guarantee – so our customer can relax, knowing that this installation is built to last.
