Durable GRP - Protection for your Roof
20/07/2016When our customers are looking for extra strength and durability in their flat roof – for instance when they are looking to use it as a roof terrace or a walkway – we will usually recommend a roof made from Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP). GRP is strong, light, durable and will provide lasting protection for your roof.
What is GRP?
GRP is sometime called fibreglass. Plastic is reinforced with glass fibres to create a product that is light like plastic, but with much greater strength. It can be polished to a smooth finish – so smooth that it is used to make waterslides. Other products that can be manufactured from GRP include canoes, wind turbine blades, pipes and of course flat roofs.
Who Manufactures GRP Roofs?
The GRP roofs we install come from industry leading manufacturers Polyroof and Topseal. We are approved contractors for both these firms. This means that our roofers have passed rigorous assessments to confirm the quality of our work.
Why Should I Choose GRP?
GRP is a great roofing material all round, but it particularly comes into its own when you want to use a flat roofing space for a terrace or roof walkway. The extra strength of GRP makes it the perfect material for a load-bearing roof.
How Long does a GRP Roof Last?
A properly installed GRP roofing system should have a lifespan of at least twenty-five years. We offer an insurance-backed guarantee for all of our work.
