Winter Weather: Preparing Your Roof for Wind and Rain

09/01/2015
A new year may have begun, but there is no getting away from the cold, wet and windy wintery weather. Large parts of Scotland and the north of England have woken up this morning to blustery conditions and hurricane-force winds in excess of 100mph. This has already caused considerable disruption, including:
  • Suspended train services
  • 80,000 homes without power
  • Closed motorways
  • Structural damage to buildings
  • Waterlogged roads
  • Fallen trees damaging properties
Whilst we in the East have escaped the worst of the weather on this occasion winter storms and high winds can cause a lot of damage to someone's property which can be a costly thing to mend. In the event of a bad bout of weather greeting our shores any minor problems you may have with your roof may become more serious. We highly recommend that as soon as you spot an issue with your roof that you should get it checked out by a professional at your earliest convenience. Issues with your roof are more likely to occur in the winter months due to the snow, rain and wind we generally receive. Winter can take a serious toll on your roof so if you have got any problems or want to make sure your roof is safe and secure ahead of the winter weather then please feel free to call us on 01603 418818 or give us an email at enquiries@roofsuk.co.uk.
