Keep Your Flat Roof In Top Condition
17/10/2014
Over the weekend last week we had a storm in East Anglia that we haven't seen for a long time. The rain poured down, eventually turning to hail, we had thunder and lightning crashing too - it was quite a sight to behold. Hopefully we won't see weather on that scale for a while now but it is a tell-tale sign that the bad weather is soon going to be on us for good. It is therefore important that you keep your roof in the best condition possible.
Be sure to check your felt roof
If they are in good condition and well maintained, a felt roof should have no problem tackling the bad weather. However, if they are damaged then windy weather can soon bring about a host of issues. It therefore is well worth the time and effort to check them for any problems or faults earlier rather than later.
The felt roofs that we install are particularly durable and robust, giving them a long-term life expectancy in excess of 30 years. However, checking your roof for signs of damage now can save you money in the long term - the cost of a repair job will be less than if you need to replace your roof entirely following a bad winter. At RG Leverett we will diagnose the problem and recommend the best roofing materials and work needed to bring your roof pack to peak condition.
We recommend fibreglass roofing
If you are looking to install a new flat roof in your home, or if the worst should happen and your roof is in need of complete repair, we would recommend replacing it with a fibreglass roof. Compared to felt roofs, fibreglass roofs are much more likely to stay in top condition throughout winter, among a number of other benefits:
- Guaranteed to last at least 30 years, if not even longer.
- Easy to repair if damage should occur.
- Very strong and durable, able to be walked on if made for balcony and walkway areas.
- Great thermal efficiency, keeping you warm and helping to cut down energy bills.
