Over the past quarter of a century, we have been asked to take care of the roofs for everything from garden sheds to church roofs and garages to schools. However, the roof of a small toilet block on an RAF base is probably a new one - even for us!
RAF Honington is a Royal Air Force station situated just south of Thetford in Suffolk. Over 1,500 service personnel, civil servants and contractors work at the base. RG Leverett were tasked with installing a new Danosa Polydan built up bituminous roofing system on the roof of one of the base’s toilet blocks.
The Polydan roofing system is made up of specially formulated polymer modified reinforced bitumen roofing sheets. They are designed to move and flex to accommodate building movement and have been independently tested by the British Board of Agrement (BBA) to have a service life in excess of 30 years.
This makes the Polydan one of the most popular products of its kind for everyday roof waterproofing applications.
Included with this installation is a 25 year Danosa guarantee which covers both the materials used and our workmanship.
