Always Hire a Certified Roofing Professional
13/09/2017Undertaking repairs to a roof can be a risky and difficult job. Ensuring that this work is carried out by qualified and experienced professionals will guarantee the safety of you and your property – in the short term and the long term. Turning to friends or other unqualified individuals to complete roofing work could have dire consequences. In this week’s blog, we highlight the importance of doing your research to ensure that you hire a properly qualified and certified roofing contractor.
Don’t DIY
As tempting as it might be, DIY is not a hobby that should be applied to roofing. The roof is one of the most important parts of the structure of your premises and tampering with this area could leave you seriously stressed out should something go wrong. Not to mention the implications for your home insurance. Roofing contractors have many hours of practical experience which cannot be learnt from watching a YouTube video.
Roofing Research
Prior to engaging a contractor, try to do some research. Consider recommendations from family and friends, as well as online reviews. Look at whether the company you are considering are registered with the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) and whatever accreditations they have. An accredited contractor will have all the necessary experience and tools to complete the job to a high standard. They will be aware of their duty to offer integrity, otherwise their reputation and accreditations could be at risk.
Our Accreditations
At RG Leverett, we are accredited by a number of bodies that prove our integrity and reliability. This includes our CHAS accreditation as well as our registration with the Confederation of Roofing Contractors – whose members include some of the best roofers in the UK. We are also listed in the Norfolk Trusted Trader directory.
