5 Shocking Roof Stunts You Definitely Shouldn't Try at Home

When Philippe Petit stepped between the twin towers of the World Trade Center in 1974, supported by nothing but a taut wire and his own nerve and balancing skills, he didn’t want any record of the event made. The art was supposed to speak for itself. Witnesses on the ground would not believe their eyes. One of his accomplices in the illegal act smuggled up a camera and photographed the amazing feat anyway. These days, of course, any idiot with a cameraphone can record their roof-based stunts and stick them on YouTube. Here are three of our favourites.
