Creating Luxurious Outdoor Spaces on Your Roof Balcony
20/03/2017A roof balcony is the perfect place to treat yourself. You have the perfect start in that you are outdoors, up high and away from the hoi-polloi with a beautiful view of the sunset. With a few added touches, you can make yourself the perfect luxury space.
The Right Balcony
Before you start piling plants and furniture and guests on to your balcony, please make sure that the roof supporting it can take the weight. Not every flat roof is intended to be used as a balcony. If in doubt, ask a professional.
The Right Plants
The best plants to grow on a roof balcony depend on the season and the direction that your balcony faces, but shrubs and trees should withstand most conditions. Why not try growing some dwarf fruit trees? We’re probably too far north for citrus fruit or figs to blossom, but native fruit trees like plum and pear should produce a crop if properly tended.
The Right Furniture
It’s your luxury space, so you will probably want a recliner to make the most of any sunny weather we have coming our way this summer. A small table on which to rest your book, your sunglasses and your cocktail.
The Right Cocktails
Our roofers can incorporate a roof terrace into most of our flat roofing installations. We can make sure that your new roof will be able to bear the extra weight and we can make sure it has a high-grip non-slip surface (handy after your third Manhattan). If you want to create a luxury balcony on a newly installed flat roof, then call RG Leverett Ltd on 01603 418 818.
